Love this book every winter!
For me, it's a must read, plus it really adds some
PIZAZZ into a looong, coooold winter!
Of course, we opened the week with a sneak peek of the movie.
There's nothing like a visual to paint the picture.
There's nothing like a visual to paint the picture.
So, in a nutshell, here's everything we did this week:
To add pizazz to the start of the week, we started with A Smart Cookie on Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs:
Then, I had to make a Week's Worth Of Learning on:
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs:

We started every learning morning with one sentence correction...I always tell my 2nd graders that sweet, little kindergartners wrote these sentences, and since K's are so cute and little, we'll help them correct their sentences...they buy it every time...wink, wink!
We had a little practice with dividing syllables, then adding a synonym & antonym to the vocab word:
Then of course, we added a few commas to three foods falling in a series, and added a proper noun as to where exactly the food will fall:
We also practiced a little on BUILDING RAGING or great sentences with adding adverbs & adjectives to our storms of food sentences:
Since graphing is a large staple to a concrete foundation of both comprehension & math, we graphed our favorite food falling from the sky:

We graphed our class' votes, answered a few questions, then drew our favorite food raining or snowing or thundering or showering down from the sky:
Since it's Freebie Friday, I thought a little Smart Cookie, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs,
freebie would be perfect!
freebie would be perfect!

What a fun unit! I love Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. You always have such cute ideas :)
